Garden Sass

a collection of recipes by the growing season

New old stock!

From the front page:

"Our cookbook is arranged according to the growing season in this area so that from the first green shoots of spring to the frost on the pumpkin you may proceed through the recipes from beginning to end. We have tried to include many variations for your experimentation. We have also included notes on cultivation, preservation, some traditional uses and historic tidbits concerning garden sass. As we are ourselves the evidence that birds left the nest, leaving grandmother and grandfather a greatly reduced family, please note that many of our recipes yield servings for two. We have decorated with authentic early American stencils in yet another attempt to remember our inheritance."
