Masquerade Ball

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to wear a mask?

Masks are encouraged, but not required. If you are not comfortable wearing a mask, you do not need to.

What kind of dancing is it?

The dance style is English Country, which was the predominant dance style in the 18th century.

What if I don't know how to dance?

No problem! All the dances will be taught before we dance them. The caller is excellent about explaining how to do the steps.

What if I don't have a date?

That's okay. Dancers often change partners between dances, so you will quite likely be able to find a partner.

Where will this all take place?

The dancing will take place in the Great Hall by candlelight. We will also have a Costume Emergency Repair room where you can find sewing supplies, glue, an iron and board, and duct tape to repair your costume.

Will there be food?

Light refreshments will be available.

Are children welcome?

This ball is aimed at people 21+ and will contain some adult themes.
