several re-enactors dressed as 16th century Germans

Was the 16th century really more colorful than the 18th? Why can German mercenaries wear shorts and the typical 18th century hunter would not (does a breech clout count)? What is a Tross Frau? What are the difference between the military tactics of the 16th century versus the 18th? Join us this weekend as we attempt to answer such questions while baking, drilling and running camp and showing off those fantastical clothes.

The 16th Century makes a visit to the museum with Das Geld Fähnlein as they recreate a military encampment and demonstrate the skills and life of a Landsknecht unit, their wives and family members.

(For reenactors wishing to participate, please see http://www.landsknechtguild.com/events/schola-historia/)

Included with admission:

  • 16th century camp
